Accountant Job Description
The Finance Team of a multinational company's European Head office in Cork has an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, collate, and submit various compliance returns including Corporation Tax, WHT, VAT, and statistical returns for entities throughout Europe.
* Prepare and review monthly tax provisions and tax reports for financial reporting and statutory reporting purposes.
* Assist with coordination of tax queries, reviews, and audits, including liaising with external service providers and tax inspectors.
* Develop relationships with internal stakeholders and deal with external advisors, local tax authorities, and other third parties.
* Reconcile tax accounts in the balance sheet and profit and loss account for all European entities.
* Prepare transfer pricing reports and review TP policies.
* Identify and introduce process improvements and efficiencies.
* Manage compliance calendar to ensure that all returns are submitted on time.
* Assist with training and review of tasks.
* Support the General Ledger Accounting team as needed with month-end, quarter-end, and statutory reporting activities.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Accounting qualification.
* Tax qualification or a keen interest in tax accounting and compliance, including corporation tax and transfer pricing.
* Hands-on experience with tax accounting and compliance, primarily corporation tax.
* Experience working in a multinational environment.
* Experience undertaking GL Accounting activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, group reporting.
* Superb attention to detail and willingness to take responsibility.
* A keen appetite to learn systems and technologies.
