Job Description:
Assistant Trading Manager - Non Food Category
This role reports to the Trading Manager and involves optimizing the contribution of the assigned portfolio to the profitability and market share position of Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland and our customers.
* Manage the portfolio product range, product quality, and category plans to reflect market and consumer trends.
* Sources and introduces own label products in conjunction with product development teams.
* Negotiates total purchase costs for products with key stakeholders including suppliers and Retail Partners.
* Sets wholesale selling prices and monitors portfolio and product margins to ensure profitability objectives are met.
* Develops excellent long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
* Supports project development and rollout within the category.
Requirements:
* A third-level qualification and/or at least 2 years of experience operating in a commercial function e.g. Trading, Finance, or Supply Chain.
* Strong commercial acumen, proven analytical skills, and excellent written and oral communication capabilities.
* Knowledge of applying category management principles would be an advantage.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build long-term stable relationships.
* Sound commercial acumen and strong functional knowledge of the product supply chain.
* Demonstrate proven analytical and communication skills and handle commercial negotiations effectively.
* Project management skills would be an advantage.
This is a 12-month contract role based in Cork, with flexible working arrangements across Ireland. We operate a Work Smart hybrid model allowing you to balance office and remote work. Occasional travel to other locations may be required.
