Our Client, a Multinational based in North Dublin, requires a Principal Engineer to join the engineering team in the manufacturing of medical diagnostic equipment. It is a permanent role. You will be reporting to the engineering manager and form part of a flexible engineering team.

Responsibilities:
* Responsible for leading a team of engineers to problem solve and manage production outages.
* Providing technical support to production for medical devices in a low volume.
* To develop and maintain high-class manufacturing and supply chain processes.
* Responsible for the day-to-day management of manufacturing engineering.
* Require a strong ability to analyse technical problems to root cause with a well-structured approach and to develop solutions across different technologies.
* To lead technology transfer initiatives and design of product enhancements.
* To lead a team to design solutions for products.
* Good understanding of level of statistics for process control and sampling rationale.
* To hire and retain a very diverse and highly qualified staff, while providing ongoing performance feedback.
* Develop strategies for the implementation of improvement methodologies in order to increase quality and efficiency of product and process operations.
Capabilities:
* Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback in order to build positive relationships and improve business results.
* Good multi-tasker, ability to prioritise as well as meet deadlines.
* Strong analysis skills with experience in complex technical troubleshooting.
* Experience with implementing engineering changes in a highly regulated environment.
* Experience in modern manufacturing disciplines (lean, six sigma, DOE, JIT) required.
* Strong Mechanical systems design skills for both product and manufacturing fixtures also essential.
* Strong knowledge and experience with good manufacturing practices.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline (electrical, electronic, mechanical, systems or computer science) with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience across different technologies in a manufacturing engineering environment.
