CPL Recruitment is partnering with a world-class leader in construction manufacturing based in the North East of England to find a Buyer to join their Procurement team.
Job Summary
This role reports directly to the Head of Procurement and involves developing and managing suppliers, improving controls and processes, and leading cost-down initiatives across the business unit. The successful candidate will also support the company's global sustainable initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Supplier Management: Manage existing suppliers, develop relationships, and participate in supplier negotiations to ensure best value for money.
* Cost Savings: Identify and deliver year-on-year cost savings within defined categories, ensuring optimal pricing and delivery.
* Purchasing Efficiencies: Collaborate with Operations to ensure high-quality products at competitive prices, minimizing inventory levels.
* Supplier Rationalisation: Develop an optimal supply chain providing product at the required quality, price, and terms.
* Tendering: Lead and conduct RFQs/Tenders to support supplier rationalisation efforts.
Personal Specification
* 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of ERP systems.
* Proven experience in leading and conducting tenders/RFQs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum
