Key Responsibilities:
* Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, the successful candidate will oversee daily branch operations and develop a business plan to meet revenue, sales, and service targets.
* Full day-to-day responsibility for the branch performance, including developing relationships with customers and managing the branch team.
* Stock management, cost control, and maintaining high standards of customer service, housekeeping, and health and safety.
* Collaborating with group purchasing, distribution, and suppliers to ensure efficient branch operations.
* Maintaining excellent relations with the local community and coordinating administrative requirements.
Requirements:
* A minimum of several years of experience in commercial and/or operational roles within the merchanting sector.
* Prior management experience is essential, with a proven track record of success in driving results and leading teams.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills, with the ability to maintain a positive team spirit.
* Confidence in making decisions on a day-to-day basis, while also being able to work independently and as part of a larger management team.
* Computer literacy and experience in using IT systems.
