Job Description:
We have a vacancy for an Electronic Maintenance Technician to join our team in Dublin. As the Electronic Maintenance Technician, you will diagnose, maintain, and repair roadside equipment such as Variable Messaging Signs, ANPR cameras, CCTV systems, optical fibre, and cellular networks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Travel to roadside locations to diagnose and repair ITS equipment and related communication infrastructure.
2. Diagnose faults at the PCB, power supply, network, and communication levels, using advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot on-site.
3. Configure and troubleshoot network issues, including IP setups, switch diagnostics, optical fibre links, and cellular network connectivity to ensure seamless communication between ITS devices.
4. Perform routine maintenance on ITS equipment, ensuring reliable operation and preventing potential issues.
5. Conduct inspections, testing, and cleaning of equipment as part of a preventative maintenance schedule, documenting all activities in our asset management system.
6. Identify and replace necessary components, cables, and connectors to maintain optimal performance of electronic and communication systems.
7. Record each action and technical detail in our asset management system, capturing diagnostics, corrective actions, and all parts used.
8. Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance schedules and roadside repair activities, creating a comprehensive performance history for each system.
9. Collaborate with team members to enhance repair and maintenance processes, sharing insights based on diagnostic patterns.
Your Profile
In order to fulfill the role successfully, the following are some of the key skills and experience required:
Essential
1. Diploma or equivalent certification in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Hands-on experience with roadside or industrial equipment diagnostics, optical fibre, and cellular communication systems is highly valued.
3. Great team player.
4. Full Manual Class B driving licence.
5. Right to live and work in Ireland without the need for sponsorship.
Desirable
1. Vocational training in electronic repair, network diagnostics, or fibre optics is beneficial.
2. Prior experience in electronic repair, field service, ITS equipment support, or communications infrastructure is beneficial.
3. Training in health and safety protocols for fieldwork environments is preferred.
4. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Electronics Technician Association (ETA) Certification, or Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certification are advantageous.
