The Role
We're seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacy Sales Assistant to join our team at our brand-new pharmacy in the new Dunnes Retail Park in Letterkenny. This maternity cover position (February-September 2025) offers an excellent opportunity to make your mark, with potential for future opportunities within the Brennans Pharmacy network. As a key member of our healthcare team, you'll deliver exceptional customer service while working in our modern, community-focused pharmacy. The ideal candidate combines strong retail skills with genuine care for customer wellbeing, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, maintaining high standards in everything they do.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
1. Deliver exceptional customer care and healthcare services following Brennans' professional standards.
2. Provide expert advice on health and wellness products to help customers achieve their wellbeing goals.
3. Create a welcoming environment by greeting customers and managing enquiries with empathy and professionalism.
4. Process transactions accurately while maintaining excellent cash handling procedures.
5. Support dispensary operations including patient phone calls, prescription preparation and blister pack assembly.
6. Maintain store presentation through merchandising, marketing initiatives, and regular housekeeping.
7. Collaborate with our dispensary team and your colleagues in our other branches.
8. Ensure compliance with all company policies and pharmacy regulations.
Required Skills & Experience:
1. Minimum 1 year of customer-facing experience (pharmacy or retail experience advantageous).
2. Strong organizational abilities with proven multitasking skills.
3. Excellence in customer service and relationship building.
4. Professional communication skills and fluency in English.
5. Computer literacy and ability to learn pharmacy systems.
6. Flexibility to work 4 days out of 6 per week, including some weekends and some bank holidays (fair rota system so you can plan ahead).
