We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our team and take ownership of monthly management accounting for a growing retail operation. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, provide financial insights, and support strategic decision-making.
Main Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Collaborate with bookkeepers, prepare management accounts, and ensure accurate reporting.
* Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models to guide business decisions.
* Cost Control & Optimisation: Monitor operational costs and implement efficiency measures.
* Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to tax regulations, company policies, and financial controls.
* Process Improvements & Projects: Identify areas for improvement, support grant applications, and contribute to key projects.
* Payscale Support: Oversee payroll preparation and commission calculations.
Your Qualifications:
* A qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with a commitment to completing exams.
* 2-3 years of practical experience with SME experience an advantage.
* Strong technical skills – Proficiency in accounting software, advanced Excel, and financial modelling.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills – Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
* Strong team player, great communicator, highly organised, and proactive.
