The Cork Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance Department is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician with expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: IT/OT (Information Technology/Operational Technology) mechanical, electronic and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our reliability (environmental and mechanical) and functional test equipment. This role requires a versatile skill set, blending various aspects of automation, computers, electrical, and electromechanical systems knowledge. Description The role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of reliability and product functional test equipment within multiple reliability labs. The equipment primarily consist of IT infrastructure, electronic devices, mechanical and electrical systems. Flexibility in working hours: Shifts patterns may change depending on business needs. Flexibility to adapt is essential for ensuring operational continuity. Management of issues out of hours may be required. The current shift patterns are as follows: The types of routine tasks that you will be responsible for are as follows: Equipment Preventative Maintenance: Conducting maintenance and calibration activities for reliability (environmental and mechanical) test and product test equipment including mechanical, electrical, water, and IT / software system related checks. This includes improving/utilsing remote monitoring equipment, equipment tracking in CMMS, spare parts management, and external equipment & facilities vendor management. Corrective Maintenance: React quickly to issues. Provide first level triage to diagnose and repair issues across computer, mechanical, electronic systems, including equipment malfunctions, electronic faults, system connectivity problems, and water supply. Communicate clearly with reliability engineers, external vendors, and internal test & manufacturing teams. Equipment installation: Install, configure, and validation of test equipment & infrastructure, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), vision systems, HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), industrial control networks, and communication systems. Work with test, reliability, manufacturing teams to understand reliability test line requirements, equipment and software. Conduct acceptance testing of reliability test line for program readiness. Safety and Compliance:Adhere to company-specific guidelines and industry standards, ensuring compliance with mechanical, electronic, and electrical safety regulations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required to maintain a safe working environment and protect the quality of our products. Change Control and Documentation:Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all changes to equipmentconfigurations,maintenance & calibration activities, system updates, and troubleshooting activities to ensure transparency and traceability of equipment changes and compliance. Minimum Qualifications Education:Qualified technician or time-served tradesperson with expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: Automation Engineering, Mechanical Systems / Engineering, Electrical Systems or Engineering, Environmental Testing. Experience:Demonstrated experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting issues in electrical and/or electromechanical systems. Ability to understand electrical circuit drawings and test equipment specifications. Ability to use various electrical diagnostics and computer software to assess, monitor, document and communicate issues and status of equipment. Ability to work in a team environment across multiple teams. Collaboration:Proactive individual who can work closely with technicians, engineers, and tradespersons to ensure efficient operation. Communicate with internal customers, internal partner teams, and external vendors to plan and execute maintenance and repair activities. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience in providing production support for equipment in a fast-paced environment, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution of issues. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Proven track record of resourcefulness in fault isolation techniques, root cause analysis and issue resolution, and continuous improvement Certified Electrician or Electrician Apprentice You're a creative problem-solver, a dedicated worker; you are well-organised and eager to go above and beyond to get the job done Ability to analyse data and draw conclusions Ability to drive results autonomously and through partner teams Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements in process within internal and external stakeholders.
