Our client, a global leader in pharmaceuticals, is looking for a skilled Procurement Specialist to join their team based in Cork on 12 a month contract basis.
The Procurement Specialist will be pivotal in maintaining effective partnerships liaising closely with the Industrial Operations, Finance, and Global Procurement teams.
You will manage procurement processes, ensuring all materials and services meet company standards in quality, cost, and delivery time. This position requires a proactive, relationship-focused professional who will help shape procurement efficiency and optimize inventory management.
Responsibilities:
Source and evaluate suppliers to fulfill materials requirements. Support in negotiating contracts to secure optimal terms on price, quality, and delivery. Handle purchase requisitions/orders for materials, services, and equipment, ensuring adherence to company policies. Oversee the delivery timelines and handle supplier-related administrative tasks on supplier management platform. Monitor and control inventory, liaising with production to track materials usage and ensure accuracy in stock levels. Align with Global Procurement strategies and report on expenditure and vendor management. Prepare and generate monthly reports detailing inventory movement, budget alignment, and other critical procurement metrics. Ensure compliant handling and distribution of raw materials and finished goods in line with cGMP and GDP requirements. Manage stock levels of GMP consumables across the Cork site. Provide coverage for the Materials and Procurement Officer as needed.

SAP S4 Hana, Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills preferred)
Certifications:
Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt is advantageous. Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management. Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar procurement role, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.
