Mechanical Utilities Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
* To implement equipment and process improvement initiatives, ensuring the continuous enhancement of our manufacturing processes.
* To oversee day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance activities to maintain manufacturing and utility equipment, guaranteeing optimal performance and efficiency.
* To collaborate with the Site Engineering Services Manager in establishing performance goals, schedules, and timetables for activities, driving operational improvements and cost savings.
* To assist in the management and support of manufacturing / utility / facility project plans, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.
* To coordinate the maintenance of manufacturing & facility equipment according to required maintenance schedules, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
* To prepare capital expenditure requests for the facility, plant, and equipment, aligning with business objectives and budget constraints.
* To develop monthly engineering metrics for operations, utilities, and facilities, including ownership of the Site Maintenance Excellence Program to drive operational improvements.
* To ensure successful agency, external, divisional, and corporate audits related to engineering compliance systems, maintaining a high level of regulatory compliance.
* To issue management reports as requested and on time, providing accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
* To manage relevant budgets within target, ensuring effective resource allocation and fiscal responsibility.
* To cross-train within the department to ensure appropriate preventive maintenance schedules are achieved, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
* To ensure safety standards are met, and safe working practices are adhered to, maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
* To implement equipment/process upgrades in an environment of continuous improvement, driving innovation and efficiency gains.
* To support the Engineering Team in ensuring that manufacturing equipment is maintained to meet the required legal, divisional, and corporate standards, upholding quality and regulatory compliance.
* To liaise with Global Engineering as required, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing across teams.
* To ensure the effective management of internal and external plant projects, coordinating resources and activities to achieve project objectives.
* To implement all relevant policies relating to Quality, Engineering & Safety, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
* To supervise external contractors, including the development of performance metrics for third-party service providers of site services.
* To negotiate cost and drive quality & performance with external contractors, securing value for money and achieving project objectives.
* To prepare appropriate CAPA plans and implement timelines, addressing non-conformities and preventing future occurrences.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree: Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Biomedical, Electronics) or Relevant Discipline.
* Desirable experience in Chilled Water, boilers, Potable Water distribution, Compressed Air Generation, LPHW, Building Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems, Electricity, Building Safety Systems, and Building regulations.
* 5+ Years experience in Facility and Utility Engineering, preferably in a cGMP environment.
* Able to re-design elements of manufacturing / utility / facility machinery to adapt to process conditions, improving efficiency and managing budgets effectively.
