A brilliant opportunity with a reputable chemical manufacturing company in Cork is available, who are currently looking to hire an Operations Accountant to fulfill their business needs.
Reporting to the Finance Director with a Dotted Reporting Line to the Operations Director and Financial Controller, this is a role that is primarily based on site, and are ideally looking for a candidate with SME experience.
THE ROLE:
1. Support the Operations Director, Finance Director and Financial Controller.
2. Emphasis on reporting of KPI’s which are used to monitor and benchmark the various sites, ensuring that the financial impact of key operational decisions are reflected, and that cost reduction/operating efficiencies are to the forefront of any decision making process.
3. Organise and Attend Operational Meetings – you are the key finance representative at these meetings who circulate minutes and follow up on Action Points.
4. Completion of monthly Operations Packs.
5. Understand key cost drivers, review and analyse all cost variances and present to Finance Director and Financial Controller.
6. Challenge all operational costs, review and analyse costs, drive cost control, understand drivers and present recommendations.
7. Prepare and review operational month end accruals.
8. Forecast Operational spend to year end.
9. Responsible for the coordination of the Annual Operations budget process.
10. Complete In house Internal Audits at sites on operational procedures and report to management.
11. Validation of utility invoices, review, analyse, challenge and benchmark across all sites.
12. Involvement in tender process for key costs - hire of equipment etc.
13. Preparation of Accounts, budgets etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Fully Qualified Accountant ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc.
2. 5+ years’ industry experience preferably in SME environment.
3. ERP system experience with Microsoft D365 advantageous.
4. Advanced Excel skills.
