Our Client is currently looking for a Health and Safety Officer to support the day-to-day management and implementation of Health and Safety processes across the company. This is an office-based role, with some travel to site involved.
Responsibilities:
* Responsibility for the ongoing maintenance and development of the Health & Safety Management Systems, including:
* Communicating effectively throughout the company on H&S issues and actively participating in management meetings.
* Providing reports relating to H&S as necessary to management.
* Supporting the business needs of the company through innovative and efficient approaches in achieving compliance requirements that enhance the continuing development and growth of the company.
* Carrying out risk assessments and hazard identification.
* Effectively communicating H&S requirements to staff through meetings, toolbox talks, and learning from events.
* Coordinating, managing, and delivering EHS related training (company requirements, procedures, new legal requirements, etc.), inductions, staff training, etc.
* Reporting on incidents and accidents and monitoring follow-up actions.
* Monitoring objectives and promoting their delivery.
* Carrying out H&S audits and inspections.
* Issuing and tracking PPE requirements.
* Liaising with the site team to ensure health and safety documentation is up to date.
Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience:
* Third level qualification in Health & Safety is required.
* At least 2 years’ experience within a Health & Safety regulated role is required.
* Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to deliver training.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
