Job Summary
An Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients using standard occupational therapy procedures, assessing their motor and neurological capabilities.
* Develops and implements occupational therapy programs to enhance patient independence and productivity.
* Collaborates with physicians to establish treatment goals and prepares individualized plans consistent with those goals.
* Provides group or individual therapy, selecting from a variety of occupational therapy modalities, such as cognitive and sensory skills development.
* Documents patient treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries according to established departmental policies and protocols.
* Attends interdisciplinary team conferences to consult with other team members regarding patient treatment and program development.
* Supervises occupational therapy assistants, aids, students, and volunteers as assigned.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
* One year of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
* Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Michigan.
* Initial certification or eligibility for certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
