The Research Ireland ARC Hub for Therapeutics is a collaborative initiative between Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, and the RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, aiming to guide academic projects to commercial success on a national scale in conjunction with other Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in the Republic of Ireland. The Therapeutics Hub focuses on generating high-quality spin-outs and licenses in the fields of small molecule therapies, biological therapies, biomaterials, biomarkers with therapeutic potential, and advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs).
The Research Ireland ARC Hub for Therapeutics, hosted by the School of Biochemistry and Immunology, is seeking to appoint a Business Development and Training (BD&T) Manager, who will report to the ARC Academic Director. This role will support the mission, vision, culture, and strategic objectives of the Research Ireland ARC Hub to ‘accelerate academic research towards commercial success and cultivate the next generation of innovation and entrepreneurial leaders’. The successful candidate will lead the business development of projects within the ARC Hub portfolio, working closely with members of the Operations Team, academic researchers, and with the Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) and contract offices of Higher Education Institutes nationally. Specifically, the role will support proposal due diligence, business case development, market insight analysis, IP evaluation, and the scoping of opportunities for onward funding, licensing, and spinout in collaboration with the respective TTOs.
Post Status: Specific Purpose
The specific purpose of the post of Business Development and Training Manager is to lead the business development of projects within the ARC Hub portfolio. The ARC Hub is funded by external agencies.
Hours of Post: 35 hours per week
Salary: Appointment will be made on the Administrative Officer 1 (1-3) (€68,181- €88,201 per annum) in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
