About the teamThe Technology Risk and Controls team ensures compliance, stability and reliability of Stripe's core infrastructure and technology against audit and regulatory needs.
The team builds and maintains a controls library resilient with changing tech stack and risk landscape and performs oversight and monitoring of technology posture and control health.
What you'll doYou will join one of the teams behind infrastructure platforms used by engineering, security, and business partners at Stripe.
You will oversee the development of solutions that may be "from scratch", built on top of in-house platforms, or leveraging 3rd party solutions.
We expect that working along the team's technical leaders, you will be able to ensure that your team processes to best integrate into Stripe's technology organization.

Responsibilities Work with other Stripe leaders to design and lead the development of processes and controls that best fulfill Stripe's compliance and risk obligations.
Conduct regular risk assessments in line with common risk frameworks such as NIST or ISO.Partner with engineering teams to plan and implement initiatives that reduce technology risks and address the needs of any new or evolving compliance requirements.
Define a vision for technology risk management, and implement it through a series of initiatives you lead or partner on within your team.
Contribute to engineering-wide and program management initiatives as a member of Stripe's engineering and program management team.

1+ years of people management experience or equivalent experience.8+ years of experience in technology process management.
Hands-on experience building risk and compliance or infrastructure programs for internal or external customers.8+ years of experience working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
The ability to thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
Clear and persuasive writing and in-person communication.
Preferred qualifications (if applicable)Experience in technology risk and compliance management.
Empathetic to customer needs, but visionary enough to not just deliver a faster horse.
Comfortable planning in quarters, and can set a vision for several years.
Excited about collaborating with teammates across Stripe's organization, to provide a wonderful user experience for key compliance workflows.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people, genuinely caring for each other and contributing to high level of psychological safety for all team members and partners.

It's not expected that you'll have deep expertise in every dimension above, but you should be interested in learning any of the areas that are less familiar.
This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users.
This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.
A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices.
While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office.
Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location.

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €118,400 - €177,600.
This range may change if you are hired in another location.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and specific location.
Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
