Our Down Syndrome Donegal Branch has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a part-time book-keeper with social media engagement/management.
Down Syndrome Ireland supports people with Down syndrome and their families in their communities. We strive to provide consistent, high-quality advice, support, and information to every person with Down syndrome to ensure that whatever their stage of life, they have a network to support them.
Our purpose is to create the environment for people with Down syndrome to achieve their potential, with a particular focus on health, education, employment, and life in the community. Down Syndrome Ireland is a confederation of local branches, who work together to ensure consistency, quality, and a common approach which celebrates, supports, and advocates for people with Down syndrome.

Responsibilities:
1. Undertake bookkeeping duties to include purchase/sales invoice management.
2. Ensure all invoices are posted correctly to the XERO accounting system.
3. Process creditor payments and undertake credit control duties.
4. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
5. Assist with the month-end process.
6. Assist with statutory annual audit.
7. Provide support to the CFO and Branch Treasurer where required.
8. Liaise with Down Syndrome Ireland National Office regarding financial queries/requests.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Social media posting.
2. Promoting branch activities and events.
3. Effectively managing the different channels and ensuring there is a consistent message across our platforms.
4. Emails, messaging, and scheduling (replying and engagement).
Experience Required:
1. 3 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping role is essential.
2. The ability to work to tight deadlines.
3. A focused approach to work with strong attention to detail.
4. To be organised and methodical.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. Fluency in spoken and written English.
7. Excellent IT skills including Excel, Outlook, and strong experience in XERO accounting software (essential).
8. Strong social media skills and knowledge.
This is a part-time role working 1 day per week (or 7.5 hours per week) based in our branch office, located in Letterkenny.
