Limerick and District Credit Union is currently recruiting for the role of Chief Finance Officer (CFO). This is a full-time permanent position, based in Limerick city. The Chief Finance Officer will operate at a strategic level within the credit union and report directly to the CEO. This role has responsibility for the financial soundness of the credit union and is accountable for the oversight and delivery of timely and accurate financial management reporting.
The Chief Finance Officer will support the development and execution of the Credit Union's Finance Strategy and ensure alignment with the overall objectives of the strategic plan. In addition, the Chief Finance Officer will implement effective processes and controls to accurately measure and report financial performance along with preparing and researching reports and products that will ensure the sustainability and continued success of the credit union. The CFO will advise the CEO and Board on the financial areas that drive the strategy of the credit union.
The CFO manages the team within the area inclusive of their performance, development and reviews to ensure they deliver the quality of service and support required within their roles.
Skills, qualifications and competenciesThe ideal person will have an established and proven track record of success either within a similar role or in a senior leadership finance position within a credit union or broader financial services sector.
A relevant Degree (minimum level 8) and Professional Qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).A Central Bank Minimum Competency Qualification, e.g., QFA and/or other suitable qualification in financial services, credit unions, management, business and possibly others such as IT, accountancy, law, finance, risk, compliance is desirable.Strong understanding of credit union regulations and credit union ethos is an advantage.Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.Appropriate numeracy skills and the ability to monitor and manage budgets.Proven experience and achievements in team performance management and growth against organisational development.A member focus, with an emphasis on delivery and growth.This role is subject to Central Bank Fitness & Probity Regime Assessment and is a Pre-Approved Control Function. As a control function, the successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring that the relevant Individual Accountability Framework responsibilities are met in line with regulatory requirements.
