Automation Technician
We are seeking an experienced Automation Technician to join our team at a leading medical devices company in Waterford.
Main Responsibilities:
* Maintain automation equipment to ensure consistent quality, output, and yield in compliance with health & safety, operational, and quality work instructions.
* Follow systematic root cause problem-solving and troubleshooting to resolve issues efficiently.
* Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, documenting all associated paperwork and records.
* Lead and implement process improvements to enhance operations while adhering to change management and cGMP requirements.
* Assist with the commissioning of new equipment and projects.
* Order and maintain spare parts inventory.
* Cross-train technicians as required.
* Support company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
Requirements:
* Level 6, 7, or 8 HETAC qualification in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical/Automation Engineering, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar.
* Industrial experience, preferably in high-volume automation/robotics and healthcare medical device manufacturing.
* Familiarity with Pneumatics, Electronics, Hydraulics, Programmable Controllers, Servo Motor drives, Vision systems, Ultrasonic welding, workshop machining, Process Capability, MSA, GR&R, and FAT/SAT/IOPQ procedures.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to provide innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a high level of safe working practices and awareness.
