Head Chef - Galway - Deal
The Ardilaun Hotel is currently seeking a Head Chef to lead our culinary team. As the Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our culinary identity and elevating our dining experiences.
About the Position
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operation, including menu development, food quality, kitchen efficiency, staff management, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute innovative and seasonal menus that reflect the tastes and preferences of our guests.
* Ensure the highest level of food quality, taste, and presentation.
* Co-operate and give particular attention to EHO visits and inspections, following up on inspection reports to ensure any issues raised are addressed.
* Monitor and record regular HACCP and food safety data, including equipment and food temperatures, to ensure food safety standards are maintained at all times.
* Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff.
* Manage kitchen operations, including inventory, ordering, and cost control.
* Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
* Implement company procedures in the event of fire or emergency in the kitchen.
* Collaborate with other departments, such as front of house and event planning, to create seamless guest experiences.
* Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into the menu.
* Hold regular departmental meetings with the kitchen staff to ensure consistency in food production.
* Promote teamwork and inter-departmental harmony at all possible times.
* Consistently meet and exceed guest expectations, ensuring memorable dining experiences.
Requirements
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Head Chef who possesses the following qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Head Chef.
* Strong culinary creativity and passion for creating exceptional dishes.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Proficiency in menu planning, costing, and food budget management.
* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
