What you’ll do
Assist EMEA investment team on acquisitions, dispositions and M&As related tax structuring, due diligence and modeling requests.
Lead tax related projects through effective collaboration with finance teams and other departments across different sites.
Prepare, coordinate and review key income tax accounting judgments, significant tax estimates, technical tax accounting conclusions, and tax disclosures.
Develop and utilize a working knowledge of multiple GAAPs from a tax perspective (FRS 102, IFRS & US GAAP).
Assist with the local corporate tax compliance requirements in EMEA including filing of corporate tax returns (externally prepared), corporate tax payments and local transfer pricing requirements to ensure all filings and payments are made in a timely manner.
Identify and implement process improvement/automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of tax processes.
Assist with tax audits as they arise.
Partner with a network of internal stakeholders (accounting, FP&A, commercial teams, and the global tax group) and external consultants and service providers
Assist with transfer pricing aspects of intercompany transactions (operational and financial) and support on and/or initiate restructurings to achieve most optimal transfer pricing/ CIT outcomes.
Keep up to date with changes to local tax legislation to ensure correct tax treatment is applied in the local jurisdictions.
Assist the US Corporate Tax team in monitoring the company’s quarterly/annual US REIT compliance—respond to diligence requests from REIT counsel, provide updates on operations and acquisitions in EMEA.
What you'll need
Master’s degree or professional certification in taxation. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or law is a plus.
Experience analysing tax legislation and accounting standards to synthesise information for non-tax audiences.
Minimum 5 – 7 years of public tax experience, inhouse tax experience is a plus. Big 4 experience preferred.
US GAAP tax accounting principles knowledge is a plus.
Good understanding of international tax environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to influence and impact others and take initiative and ownership of results.
Detail-oriented and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. Team player with strong interpersonal skills, flexible and adaptable to change.
