Technical Operations Engineer Role
FexcoDrive Operations is recruiting for a Technical Operations Engineer to join the team.
This is a permanent, full-time position with opportunities to work from our offices in Killorglin, Co. Kerry and flexibility to work a hybrid model.
Job Purpose
The Technical Operations team contributes to the scope, design, and deployment of changes requiring configuration to applications.
They collaborate with other technology teams to deliver and implement changes in the Production Environment, ensuring operational stability regardless of introduced services.
To aid this stability, monitoring and alerting are provided to the support team.
Main Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Product, Development, and Infrastructure teams to ensure effective solutions.
* Work on own initiative and manage timelines for key tasks aligned to project timelines.
* Document Standard Operating Procedures for the support team.
* Complete handovers to the support team as part of production changes.
* Support business innovation through technical configuration changes across multiple technologies, applications, and payment protocols.
* Support integration testing/UAT with external clients and vendors.
* Participate in Problem Management and Process Improvement and be a point of escalation for support issues before development and infrastructure teams.
* Promote good relationships with Fexco customers and partner organisations.
* Represent the operations team effectively in project delivery and contribute in project work breakdown sessions.
* Highlight risks to operational stability.
Qualifications/Experience Required
5+ years in an IT role.
Third-level qualification in a relevant IT discipline is advantageous.
Cloud computing skills are preferable.
Detailed knowledge of database systems such as Oracle, MySQL, or Postgres is preferable.
A strong understanding of CI/CD automation and DevOps tools like Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins etc. is beneficial.
Knowledge of Networking/Firewalls is desirable.
