We are currently seeking a Fleet and Garage Manager to join us in Dublin on a full-time, permanent basis. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fleet and Garage Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our fleet, ensuring that vehicles are maintained to the highest standards and are always ready for service. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership abilities and a passion for optimising processes related to vehicle maintenance, compliance, and fleet utilisation. As a key part of our operations team, you will ensure that our vehicles meet all safety standards and that our garage operates smoothly to support the company’s logistical needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead vehicle specification and maintenance for Greyhound Recycling, ensuring commercial, health, safety, and operational goals are met.
2. Manage service and maintenance resources (internal and external) to provide high-quality, cost-effective vehicle supply, repair, and maintenance for the fleet.
3. Monitor and drive optimal vehicle availability through continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Review financial and operational performance, managing assets and staff to ensure profitability and high customer service standards. Ensure the garage is equipped with diagnostic tools for prompt issue resolution.
5. Utilise and monitor the fleet management system for accuracy in job cards, purchase orders, and compliance. Ensure driver-reported issues are addressed and closed out.
6. Ensure adequate garage staffing, training for mechanics, and proper induction of third-party contractors.
7. Implement and monitor a spare parts management system, ensuring adequate stock levels.
8. Maintain high housekeeping standards in the workshop.
9. Conduct risk assessments for all maintenance activities, including safety measures and SOPs.
10. Actively manage business KPIs, setting budgets, and ensuring optimal return on assets and service delivery.
11. Perform vehicle spot checks to ensure roadworthiness and legal compliance, addressing issues promptly.
12. Ensure health, safety, and compliance are embedded in all fleet maintenance activities, meeting all legislative requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Relevant Technical Qualification is essential.
2. Management experience of a service organisation fleet and/or garage.
3. Knowledge of existing and impending environmental and Health & Safety legislation/environment.
4. Knowledge of workshop procedures & CVRT, Loler, 13-week inspection testing regime and processes.
5. Experience of managing in a labour intensive, multi-shift environment.
