Project Manager

Our client provides a wide range of cost-effective and sustainable energy solutions for public, industrial, commercial, agricultural customers working across both Ireland and Northern Ireland. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking to hire an experienced Project Manager.
Location: Waterford
Objectives of the Job:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the project management from initial design through to commissioning and post-installation support. This position will require regular visits to the construction site and occasional travel to meetings with stakeholders. Depending on business needs and project status, continuous periods of site-based work may be required.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution
* Develop and oversee detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
* Coordinate with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely achievement of project milestones.
* Contribute to monthly Lessons Learned sessions, sharing key insights with the broader organization.
* Manage and mentor team members as needed, including direct line management responsibilities such as performance reviews, KPI setting, and professional development.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
* Ensure all construction activities adhere to relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Implement and enforce quality control procedures to maintain high standards of workmanship.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance and quality standards.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and potential issues.
* Develop contingency plans to address project disruptions effectively.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
Budget and Cost Control
* Manage project budgets, including cost forecasting and tracking.
* Approve project expenditures and oversee vendor contracts.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality and safety.
* Supervise all phases of the construction process, from pre-construction to commissioning and handover.
Stakeholder Management
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
* Ensure clear and effective communication among all project participants, resolving issues promptly.
* Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders.
* Lead and manage on-site construction teams, including subcontractors.
* Foster a positive, collaborative, and results-driven work environment.
* Ensure all team members understand their roles, responsibilities, and project objectives.
Experience and Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
* Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in large-scale construction projects, with at least 2 years in renewable energy projects.
* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and familiarity with CAD software.
* Strong understanding of solar energy systems, construction methodologies, and health and safety regulations.
* Proven ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
* Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
