Job Title: Purchasing Assistant
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our team in partnership with a major fabrication business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure orders are received in full and on time
* Aim to reduce supplier lead times and expedite orders
* Work closely with the scheduling department to identify delivery date issues that may affect production
* Manage the collection of goods from suppliers
* Raise purchase orders for materials and services in line with production requirements
* Maintain accurate supplier pricing
Requirements:
* 1 year's experience in a purchasing/supply chain related position
* Strong Excel skills with prior MRP/ERP experience
* Clear and confident communicator
* Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* SAGE 200 experience is advantageous
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record of working in a purchasing or supply chain environment. You will be highly organized, able to multitask and possess excellent communication skills.
