Senior R&D Electronic Engineer
Chipright is seeking an experienced R&D Electronic Engineer to work onsite with our Client in Ireland. Our client is a medical device company developing diagnostic devices for monitoring and early detection of various gastrointestinal conditions. The company is looking for an R&D Electronic Engineer with experience in product design, embedded systems, software development, and testing to join a growing and vibrant team.
Primary Function: Design, development, integration, and testing of electronics on our clients’ products.
Major responsibilities:
1. Rapidly design and prototype new product concepts, selecting off-the-shelf components and/or designing new systems.
2. Schematic capture and PCB layout of analog, digital, and RF circuit cards.
3. Assemble, bring-up, and debug new electronic designs.
4. Work closely with the team (firmware, mechanical, and clinical engineers) to meet customer needs.
5. Conduct laboratory tests of new conceptual designs.
6. Debug, verification, and validation of new designs.
7. Identify and pursue opportunities to license, co-develop, and/or partner with technology innovators to bring new technology products and/or services to market.
Essential Skill/Experience:
1. Electronics Engineering Degree.
2. Hands-on experience in designing analog/RF and digital circuits at board level (PCB) – min 5 years.
3. Experience in system-level hardware/software debugging and testing.
4. Excellent schematic and layout design experience.
5. Be a versatile team player, have strong initiative, be willing to multitask, and accept new technical challenges.
6. Have an interest in working in other areas (i.e. concept design, system troubleshooting, software development, data analysis) other than embedded electronics during various phases of projects.
Desired Requirements:
1. Experience with low power embedded design and low-level programming (Assembler/C/C++).
2. Awareness of photonics principles.
3. Awareness of regulations that apply in consumer and medical electronic products.
4. Validation.
5. Awareness of manufacturing/assembly processes and techniques.
6. Strong documentation skills.
7. Experience in concept generation and systems design.
8. Track record of on-time, on-budget project delivery.
9. Quality focused.
10. Commercially aware.
