Your new role
As an Environmental Health and Safety Officer, you will be part of a team responsible for maintaining the company's high standards in regulatory and corporate requirements, as well as the upkeep of the EHS management system. Key duties include:
1. Strengthening site environmental management programs by implementing innovative systems in line with ISO 14001.
2. Managing Industrial Emissions Licenses and coordinating monitoring and report programs to ensure compliance with regulations.
3. Developing, implementing, and revising EHS Standard Operational Procedures.
4. Evaluating the environment, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards.
5. Completing risk assessments to identify potential hazards and developing strategies to mitigate them.
6. Managing contractors to ensure safe working practices and reviewing their safety records.
7. Maintaining and auditing permits for work systems.
8. Assisting in the development of the safety management system in line with ISO 45001.
9. Conducting audits to ensure EHS site compliance.
10. Staying up-to-date with new legislation and implementing changes as required.
11. Developing and coordinating occupational health programs.
12. Collaborating with production, manufacturing, and laboratory teams to integrate new and existing environmental and safety standards and initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
1. A Level 8 degree or higher diploma in Occupational Safety, Health, and Welfare or a related discipline.
2. A minimum of 4 years' experience in a specific environmental role.
3. A minimum of 4 years' experience in Health and Safety.
4. Knowledge and experience in IPPC licenses and IEL, as well as EPA regulations and guidelines.
5. A minimum of 2 years' experience in managing projects.
6. Excellent computer skills.
7. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
