Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Foremen
Reports to the CJK Engineering Project Manager
Duties:
1. Attending onsite Progress Meetings and generating weekly reports on progress achieved.
2. Adhering to the Construction Programme and onsite deliverables.
3. Supporting the organisation and co-ordination of site-based activities.
4. Leading and co-ordinating teams of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering trades on site.
5. Responsible for tracking and recording of site daily activities and construction progress.
6. Leading their Teams to deliver Quality, on Time and to Budget, in a Safe and Efficient manner.
7. Dealing with obstacles and challenges in a timely manner and developing team capacity.
8. Supporting all parties working with the M&E Co-ordination / BIM process.
9. Responsible for Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Welfare requirements, as per the Project EHS Plan.
10. Responsible for Personnel timekeeping, wages, discipline and setting to work.
11. Use of onsite Clocking system to be adhered to.
12. Organising and managing Labour and Specialist sub-contractors.
13. Ensuring the proactive management of client relationships during the delivery of projects to ensure expectations are achieved.
14. Liaising with Clients, staff, senior management, suppliers and Specialist subcontractors.
15. Responsible for the Materials and Workmanship installed on site, including Material Management, Labour, and Material costs.
16. Working within a designated project, in close cooperation with the CJK Engineering Project Manager, as part of the overall Project team.
17. Knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical systems with regard to onsite co-ordination.
18. Knowledge of onsite Mechanical/Electrical co-ordination, setting out, installation and construction.
19. Attending co-ordination meetings and developing communication skills.
20. Conducting System walkdowns of 1st Fix, 2nd Fix and 3rd Fix Mechanical/Electrical installation works, for compliance and standard of workmanship.
21. Ensuring Mechanical/Electrical Systems are safely inspected, tested and commissioned correctly, as per the Project requirements.
22. Responsible for Quality Management requirements, as per the project Specifications, Drawings and Workmanship standards, including Project Quality Plan (PQP).
Previous Experience / Qualifications:
1. A minimum of two years’ experience, post Mechanical/Electrical Trades qualification on site.
2. Mechanical or Electrical Trades exam completed (SOLAS) – FETAC Level 6 (Fitter / Plumber).
3. General knowledge of Mechanical or Electrical, HVAC, Building Services, Utilities, Piping systems.
4. Interpret Schematics and Mechanical/Electrical drawings.
5. Ability to work on their own initiative.
6. Knowledge of Tender Documents and determining scope of works.
7. Excellent attention to detail.
8. Good Computer / PC skills.
Desirable:
1. Good knowledge of AutoCAD / Navisworks.
2. Knowledge of the Irish Building Regulations, including BCAR 2014.
3. Previous M&E co-ordination experience.
