Responsibilities
* Independently work with clients to understand individual project requirements then deliver BMS system design to a specific standard for the BMS contractor to develop installation details.
* Client interface management to understand project requirements and present design at design stage gates.
* Design control systems across various BMS platforms, developing required project documentation: BMS I/O lists, HVAC and Utility Sequence of Operations documents, Scope of Works, Functional Specifications, Hardware Specifications.
* Design BMS System Architecture & Topography.
* Instrumentation design, selection, and approval.
* Coordinate and collaborate across project disciplines within and outside the office.
* BOD BMS Cost Estimates.
* BMS Contractor management. Review and comment on contractor site queries, technical submittals, and panel shop drawings/wiring diagrams for compliance against the design intent.
* Review and approval of panel FAT documents and SAT documents.
* Witness testing of panel FATs and site SATs when applicable.
* Attend project, staff, company, design review, ISO, and group meetings and actively participate in discussions.
* Effectively deal with issues arising throughout the daily cycle and develop solutions to ensure successful resolution.
* Working with, leading, and coaching younger engineers and co-workers.
* Able to multitask on various projects and manage your own projects and deliverables.
Qualifications
* Level 8 University Engineering degree (Mechanical, Building Services, Automation Engineering) with minimum five years relevant experience preferred; or minimum five year apprenticeship program or related College technical diploma with six or more years of relevant experience.
* Knowledge and strong background in BMS.
* Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, data centre, or health-related facility.
* Experience in GMP manufacturing facility and Data Centres.
* Experience in BMS redundancy design.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Good understanding of current good manufacturing practices, 21 CFR Part 11, 210 and 211, and Annex 11.
* General knowledge of network configuration, computer hardware and software, including automation applications.
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Vision, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Ability to work well with employees at all levels of the organization.
