The role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Staff EHS Specialist to join their medical device manufacturing plant based in Limerick.
Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and company policies.
Conduct regular risk assessments, site inspections, and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees and contractors; conduct comprehensive site inductions.
Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions to mitigate reoccurrence.
Develop, test, and maintain emergency response plans through drills and simulations.
Monitor and manage environmental aspects, promoting sustainability and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Maintain HSE documentation, including risk assessments, incident reports, and training records, ensuring accuracy and currency.
Communicate HSE policies and procedures effectively across all levels of the organization, fostering a culture of safety.
Stay current on changes in HSE legislation, ensuring alignment of company practices with up-to-date standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in an HSE role.
Strong knowledge of Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation, with a track record of successfully implementing HSE programs and policies.
