As a Software Engineer in NETGEAR’s new Center of Excellence in Cork, you will play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance, scalable web applications and cloud infrastructure, delivering seamless user experiences. In this role, you will work on cutting-edge cloud-native networking technologies. You will work within a dynamic team of engineers and collaborate with cross-functional partners to scope, build, and ship high-quality products. The role will provide opportunities to work with a modern technology stack such as serverless architectures, AWS Lambda, and microservices. This position is pivotal to NETGEAR’s transformation toward a software subscription business. The role is hybrid, with the expectation that you'll spend at least two days a week in our Cork office, offering the flexibility to balance in-person collaboration with remote work. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new team that will play a pivotal role in NETGEAR’s shift to a software services model Key Responsibilities: API & Services Development: Design, build, and maintain APIs and services using NodeJS / Typescript. Test Automation: Develop automation testing for new features and functionality. Roadmap Execution: Develop and execute short- and long-term technical roadmaps. Documentation: Produce comprehensive internal and external documentation for systems and processes. Collaboration: Work closely with team members and leadership to ensure the overall team objectives are met as ONE team. Your partnership with other team members will be crucial to the success of all customer deliverables. About You: Required Skills and Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in a professional engineering role, with a focus on building and operating highly reliable services. Experience with JavaScript and its frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Express). Familiarity with AWS services including Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and IAM. Proficient in using GitHub, Jira, and Confluence, with substantial experience working within an Agile environment. Familiarity with databases like SQL and NoSQL. Strong understanding of secure software development best practices. Ability to tackle problems and effectively apply technical and product knowledge when scoping and designing projects. B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent vocational experience. Desired Attributes: Knowledge of AWS security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and network security, to ensure systems are secure. Experience in startup or entrepreneurial environments with a “get-things-done” attitude and adaptability. Learning Mindset: A desire to grow within the role, with support from team mentors.
