Job Description:
About the team: The Trust & Safety Risk Intelligence team plays a critical role in detecting and analyzing external risks and internal intelligence to support risk mitigation efforts across the platform. Our mission is to provide timely, data-driven insights that empower Trust & Safety teams to address public perception risks, regulatory and policy challenges, high-risk events, and emerging threats. Through a combination of proactive detection, deep-dive investigations, and advanced analytics, we enable informed decision-making and help shape platform safety strategies. As a Risk Intelligence Team Analyst, you will be at the forefront of identifying high-harm risks. You will leverage SQL, data analysis tools, and investigative techniques to detect harmful trends, assess emerging threats, and drive proactive risk detection initiatives. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of Trust & Safety risks.
Responsibilities:
1. Proactively identify harmful trends and content using internal data, open-source intelligence (OSINT), and third-party intelligence sources.
2. Leverage SQL and other data analysis tools to detect and investigate high-risk behaviors, anomalies, and emerging threats.
3. Monitor and analyze real-world crises, public perception, and high-risk content trends through internal databases, news reports, and social media.
4. Work cross-functionally with Trust & Safety, Product, Policy, Process, and Detection and Containment teams to improve platform safety and risk mitigation strategies.
5. Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement automated detection mechanisms to identify and control harmful content efficiently.
6. Investigate Trust & Safety risks, including misinformation, real-world harm, and other high-impact issues.
7. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to enhance detection models, enforcement processes, and proactive risk mitigation.
8. Identify gaps and inefficiencies in risk detection and develop solutions with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, investigations, risk identification, or a related field (Trust & Safety, cybersecurity, fraud, intelligence analysis, etc), with strong and proven data analysis and logical thinking skills.
2. Strong SQL proficiency with experience analyzing and visualizing large datasets to detect patterns and risks.
3. Ability to work in a high-tempo, rapidly evolving environment, managing multiple priorities efficiently.
4. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into actionable insights.
6. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data science, trust & safety, risk investigations, cybersecurity, or related fields.
7. Resilient and committed to self-care, understanding and managing the emotional demands of working in high-risk areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience with Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis.
2. Familiarity with risk detection models, automated threat intelligence tools, and machine learning applications in Trust & Safety.
3. Prior experience working with real-time data monitoring, risk signals, and policy enforcement frameworks.
4. Experience in intelligence analysis and investigative work in Trust & Safety, cybersecurity, integrity, or risk operations.
5. Strong knowledge of OSINT techniques and methodologies.
