Essentials: Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or Project Management; minimum 5 years’ design experience in residential construction; strong knowledge of building regulations; proven ability in driving innovation and managing design standards.
Location: Central Dublin - office based
Salary: Up to €70,000

Our client, a leading residential developer, is seeking a Design Manager to oversee the development and implementation of central design standards while driving innovation across their portfolio of projects. Reporting to the Design Lead, this role involves uniting teams and introducing new approaches to collaborative design.
Innovation Leadership
1. Manage and coordinate design innovation projects within the established Innovation Framework.
2. Evaluate, plan, and implement new products and systems for integration into live projects, identifying risks, opportunities, and technical challenges.
3. Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to assess and integrate innovative solutions.
4. Develop and maintain an annual innovation programme for design and R&D activities.
5. Ensure sustainability targets are integrated into innovation initiatives in collaboration with the Sustainability team.
6. Conduct technical due diligence for new products and systems, utilising internal and external expertise.
7. Work with commercial and procurement teams to develop realistic budgets for innovative materials and systems.
Central Design Standards
1. Organise and maintain Central Design Standards information.
2. Collaborate with Design Leads for Architecture, Interiors, and Landscaping to ensure a unified approach and integrate standards into the Digital Library.
3. Create and manage guidance drawings and templates for the Technical Design Library.
4. Stay updated on local and international construction innovations, aligning the approach with industry trends.
5. Engage with the supply chain and subcontractors to embed new standards and innovations.
