Relief Project Workers work in different sites throughout the South East on an "on-call" basis. You may be called for a shift at any stage, and are under no obligation to accept the shift. You are paid per hours worked.
What you will do:
* To work within the framework of the overall objective of Focus Ireland the values of the agency.
* To work on a relief basis as part of a team within the framework of the policies and procedures in place for the project or as directed by the project leader, assistant project leader or section manager.
* To work in close liaison and co-operation with other teams within Focus Ireland and other Statutory and Voluntary Agencies as deemed appropriate.
* To record and maintain records on a relief basis in relation to the project and individual clients in accordance with statutory requirements and health and safety legislation.
* To attend and participate in team, review and agency meetings as required.
* To assist in the implementation of the settlement policies and strategies of Focus Ireland.
* To work in close liaison with and co-operate with other Focus Ireland projects.
* To undertake such other duties as might be reasonably assigned to you from time to time in consultation with the Project Leader.
* To observer all Health, Safety and Welfare at Work regulations and notify management of any risks or concerns you may have in relation to same.
What you will need:
* A relevant Third Level qualification at degree level i.e. social care, psychology, sociology.
* Proven direct work experience in relief/part-time work in a social care setting.
* Experience of supporting marginalised clients/groups.
* A working knowledge and insight into the social issues (e.g. substance abuse) that a.ffect people who have or are experiencing homelessness.
* Working knowledge and understanding of Child Protection.
* Ability to manage and support clients in crisis who present with challenging behaviours based on the values and principles of best practice in Focus Ireland.
* Experience of key working, assessments and care planning.
* Excellent report writing and IT skills.
* A working knowledge and understanding of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model.
