Amazon Web Services is the largest consumer cloud offering in the world, powering leading edge science, rapidly growing start-ups and industry-leading companies.
The AWS Incident Tooling & Response team is building systems to ensure these AWS customers can rely on the highest-availability, lowest-latency cloud platform on the planet. We work closely with the teams who own the largest AWS products, building systems to detect and mitigate operational issues before they impact customers. We are currently looking for a Front end developer to build world-class user interfaces for our customers. Are you an expert in web technologies? Successful candidates for this position will have a strong background in building web applications using current technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript and CSS and web-UI frameworks like jQuery, React, Flux etc. Working with Web Services, JSON, Apache/Tomcat services is desired.
Equally important to these specific skills are a candidate's ability to multi-task, quickly adapt to new development environments and changing business requirements, learn new systems, create reliable/maintainable code, and find creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years Experience in building web applications with frameworks.
- Proficiency in Java, C/C++/C# or another high-level programming language & experience with JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Experience with common front-end technologies, such as React, Angular, Webpack, Babel, and Grunt.
- Experience of front-end test frameworks such as Jest with Enzyme, Mocha, Jasmine.
- A solid grasp of fundamental algorithms and applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of distributed systems and a willingness to jump in and learn what is happening in the back-end code.
- Working knowledge of Node.js
- Can decompose a problem into clear system, API, and UX design actions.
