My client is a prominent insulation manufacturer based in Northern Ireland, recognized for its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the building materials sector. With a strong focus on energy efficiency, the company has established itself as a leader in providing high-performance insulation solutions that meet the evolving needs of the construction industry.
The Opportunity
As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement initiatives across the plant. This position offers the chance to work directly on the shop floor, collaborating with various teams to identify challenges and implement effective solutions. You'll be at the forefront of operational excellence, applying your expertise to optimize processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Improvement Projects: Manage initiatives focused on enhancing machine efficiency and executing complex capital projects.
2. Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with operational teams to identify problems and propose actionable solutions.
3. Utilize Improvement Methodologies: Apply Lean Six Sigma techniques to optimize processes and reduce waste.
4. Monitor Performance Metrics: Identify and deliver on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational excellence.
Qualifications
1. A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related field).
2. Proven experience in project management and continuous improvement methodologies.
3. Strong analytical skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
4. Excellent communication skills, capable of fostering collaboration across teams.
Whilst not essential, the following would be of benefit:
1. IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
2. Six Sigma Green Belt
3. HAZOP Analysis
