Job Description:
Order Picker/Warehouse Operative required for work in a busy warehouse/distribution centre. Successful candidates will need to be able to pick from paper dockets and/or handheld systems.
Our client sorts and distributes goods all over Cork. They are looking for hardworking candidates with previous experience, safety boots, manual handling, and a positive attitude. Excellent timekeeping and attendance are needed in these roles.
Candidates must provide customer service to customers by assisting with problem resolution and accepting product returns as required.
1. Organise and pack product for delivery.
2. Gather and organise appropriate paperwork for deliveries.
3. Load products/packages into vans for delivery to customer sites.
4. Provide back-up to warehouse staff, assisting with inbound and outbound duties as necessary.
5. Route planning and optimisation.
6. Accept returns from customers, completing appropriate paperwork and returning items to the warehouse. Place products in the return area with the appropriate paperwork.
7. Address and resolve customer problems as appropriate.
8. Maintain cleanliness of work area & warehouse.
9. Sort and arrange stock in bin locations in the warehouse.
10. Pick and pack orders for dispatch.
11. Stock control and reordering.
12. Follow all safety procedures in the performance of job duties.
What You’ll Need:
1. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
2. Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions given in written and oral form.
3. Excellent customer service skills, conducting customer contact in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
Work experience: At least 1 year’s relevant work experience. Specific order picking experience would be a distinct advantage.
These roles are based within walking distance of the Train Station in Little Island.
Work is primarily Monday to Friday, daytime hours.
Workers will start on an agency contract with a view to permanent employment.
