We are currently seeking a highly motivated Family Support Worker to join our team in East Galway.
Contract Type: Permanent
Contract Hours: Variable
Locations: East Galway and Galway City
Salary Scale: €32,369 - €39,499 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s.
Overview of the Post:
To provide support to children to enable them to participate in the community, achieve person-centred goals, and facilitate inclusion. The Family Support Worker will provide practical, personal, and social support to the individual they work with.
The successful candidate will have:
1. QQI Level 5 major award in childcare or equivalent (we will consider applicants working towards a full major childcare qualification or equivalent).
2. Experience working with children/teens.
3. Experience of working with children with physical disabilities.
4. Experience providing personal care to individuals.
5. Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
6. Good awareness of health and safety issues.
7. Experience of working with children in community/non-centred based and centre-based settings as a Lone Worker and as part of a team.
8. Experience of working with children with physical disabilities and Autism.
9. At least one year's experience assisting individuals with disabilities in a Health Care setting.
10. Access to transport and a full clean driving licence.
