Principal Acoustic Consultant
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Acoustic Consultant to lead our Acoustics team and work on a wide range of interesting and challenging projects across various sectors.
About the Role
* Lead FT's Acoustics team and contribute to proposals and provide expert advice to clients on acoustics across multiple sectors.
* Scope, resource, and deliver complex and challenging acoustics projects with a strong track record in working in acoustics and experience of a range of commissions from small to major multi-disciplinary projects.
* Innovative and willing to exploit the latest technologies but able to explain acoustics to a non-technical audience.
Responsibilities
* Develop and mentor junior staff, including line management, while managing own workload to accelerate the development of technical skills in more junior staff.
* Provide on-the-job advice and instruction and develop new lines of work or smarter ways of working.
* Leads a wide range of acoustics projects covering environmental acoustics, renewable energy acoustics, transportation acoustics, and occupational noise and vibration.
Requirements
* Chartered status or evidence of working towards MIOA/FIOA; minimum degree (1.1 or 2.1) in acoustics or relevant technical disciplines (e.g. Physics, Maths or Engineering).
* Thorough understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment process regarding Noise and Vibration (N&V); technically capable to scoping and determining onsite noise monitoring requirements.
* Experience in wind energy project performing Directional Analysis, Tonal Assessment, developing Curtailment Strategies, and the Assessment of Amplitude Modulation.
