About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Payments Executive to manage and oversee all payment processes across direct debit and credit card collections.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and manage end-to-end payment processes for both direct debit and credit card transactions.
* Take ownership of the collection processes, ensuring timely and accurate collection of payments from customers.
* Manage and optimize payment processes using Stripe and other relevant platforms.
Reconciliation and Reporting
* Reconcile payments received via direct debit and credit cards, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner, liaising with relevant teams where necessary.
* Generate regular reports on payment status, collections performance, and outstanding balances.
Customer Support
* Act as a point of contact for payment-related inquiries from customers, addressing issues such as failed payments or disputes.
* Ensure a seamless and customer-friendly payment experience.
Process Optimization
* Continuously review and improve payment processes, leveraging automation and technology where possible.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of payment systems with other business processes.
Compliance and Risk Management
* Ensure payment processes comply with relevant regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
* Monitor and mitigate risks associated with payment collections and data security.
Requirements
* Proven experience in payment management or working within a finance team, ideally with hands-on experience managing direct debit and credit card collections.
* Strong knowledge of payment platforms, with experience using Stripe being a distinct advantage.
* Excellent reconciliation skills with the ability to analyse and resolve discrepancies effectively.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
* Familiarity with financial regulations, data security, and compliance requirements.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Experience in process improvement or implementing automation in payment workflows.
* Knowledge of financial systems and tools, including experience with accounting software.
