Principal Recruitment Consultant at DesignBuild Search
Design Build Search is partnering with a leading engineering contractor to recruit a skilled and experienced MEP Lead to oversee the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) aspects of their projects. The ideal candidate will ensure the successful design, coordination, and delivery of MEP systems within budget, schedule, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design, planning, and implementation of MEP systems in collaboration with project teams.
* Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall project.
* Monitor and manage MEP activities to ensure compliance with project timelines and milestones.
* Review and approve MEP design drawings, specifications, and submittals.
* Ensure all systems meet regulatory, safety, and industry standards.
* Identify and address technical issues promptly to minimise delays or disruptions.
* Manage and mentor the MEP team, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
* Conduct regular progress meetings to align team efforts with project goals.
* Monitor MEP budgets and expenditures to ensure cost-effective solutions.
* Evaluate and negotiate change orders and variations as necessary.
* Conduct site inspections to ensure MEP installations meet design specifications and quality standards.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on-site.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all MEP-related inquiries.
* Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on the status of MEP systems.
Qualifications and Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering field.
* 8+ years of experience in MEP design, coordination, and management.
* Proven experience in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
* Strong understanding of building systems, codes, and regulations.
* Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project).
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
* Experience in sectors such as data centers, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or high-rise buildings.
* Familiarity with LEED certification or similar sustainability standards.
