Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Our client, a leading fruit and vegetable producer in Ireland, is seeking to hire a Maintenance Technician to be based in Dublin 15.
Job Description:
The Maintenance Technician will work as part of a four-person maintenance team to ensure that machinery, equipment, services, and facilities are well maintained and functioning effectively and efficiently.
* Implement the company's preventative maintenance program through scheduled PMs based on risk assessment and performance reliability.
* Respond immediately to breakdowns during the shift, ensuring minimum downtime is experienced.
* Carry out detailed root cause analysis on breakdowns to implement corrective repairs and future preventative action.
* Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
* Complete all necessary records in compliance with food safety and audit requirements.
* Maintain adequate spare parts based on risk assessment.
* Responsible for maintaining budget spend targets and proactively working towards cost-saving initiatives for the business.
* Ensure full compliance of external contractors when on site.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Working closely with the production team to support them and provide advice.
* Participating in staff training as required.
* Planning all maintenance and preventative maintenance activities.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:
* A diploma or other trade qualification in Electronics/Electrics.
* The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics/drawings.
* The ability to work on 3-phase, single-phase, and low-voltage DC.
* Experience of working with process controlling hardware including PLCs/MMIs.
* Familiarity with sensing devices and motors.
* Expert knowledge of a food production environment, preferably chilled.
* Good computer skills and English language proficiency.
* Good communication skills, verbal and written.
* A minimum of three years' experience in a similar role within the food industry.
Desirable Skills:
The following skills are desirable but not essential:
* Pneumatics knowledge.
* Knowledge of reduction gearboxes and fluid pumps.
