About Your New Job
As a BER Assessor, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and improving the energy efficiency of properties while ensuring compliance with SEAI regulations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Conducting Assessments: Perform site visits, complete pre-works surveys, and publish pre-works BER reports.
* Energy Performance Improvements: Prepare home energy assessments and document energy performance improvements following retrofit interventions.
* Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all assessments meet SEAI requirements and provide accurate and timely data entry into internal systems.
* Client & Contractor Liaison: Maintain strong communication with clients, contractors, and project management teams.
* Industry Engagement: Stay up to date with Irish building regulations and best practices in energy efficiency.
What Skills You Need
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* A minimum of two years’ relevant experience.
* A QQI Level 6 qualification in BER Rating of Dwellings and SEAI registration (or eligibility for registration).
* A construction trade qualification or a Level 7 qualification in a building construction-related field.
* Strong knowledge of construction materials and building services.
* Full driving license and willingness to travel for site visits.
* High attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to quality.
* Excellent verbal, written, and customer engagement skills.
* Ability to manage a high workload while meeting deadlines.
Bonus Skills:
* Experience using DEAP 4.2 software for BER assessments.
* Knowledge of Irish building regulations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel.
* Ability to measure surface areas accurately.
