An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Irish SME perfume brand with a global footprint. Based in their converted farmhouse in Co. Wicklow, they distribute to over 4,000 retail stores worldwide, exporting 90% of their sales to North America, the UK, Europe, and Australia.
They are looking for a Management Accountant to join their growing Finance team and contribute to their success.
The Management Accountant will report to the Finance Manager, who in turn reports to the Financial Controller. This hands-on role is crucial in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of management accounts, financial analysis, and compliance reporting for our group of companies.
You will work within a complex finance function, supporting senior management with financial insights and decision-making while helping to train and develop junior finance team members. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to gain international exposure, enhance technical expertise, and influence key business decisions in a fast-growing company.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including group consolidation.
2. Analyse cost, revenue, and pricing variances against budgets and forecasts.
3. Conduct margin analysis by product, market, and project, providing actionable insights.
4. Prepare/review working papers, analysis, and commentary to supplement management accounts.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and support commercial decision-making.
6. Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
7. Prepare and reconcile Sales Tax returns across all markets, including Ireland, the UK, the EU, the USA, Canada, and Australia.
8. Prepare/review Intrastat, VIES, 46G, CSO, and other compliance returns.
9. Ensure adherence to customs regulations and reporting requirements.
10. Assist with regular stock reconciliations, working closely with the Production team to understand adjustments, pricing variances, and trends.
11. Review multi-currency bank account reconciliations to ensure sufficient balances are maintained across bank accounts.
12. Identify gaps in financial processes and controls and drive improvements.
13. Review AP invoices before posting to ensure accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
14. Assist with the supervision and training of junior finance team members, supporting their professional growth.
15. Collaborate with the Finance Manager to streamline processes and enhance financial operations.
Core Competencies & Skills Required
1. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) with 2+ years of post-qualification experience.
2. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.
3. Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with SAP Business One is an advantage but not required.
4. High-level proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
5. Experience with group/consolidated accounts and working in complex finance functions.
6. Strong understanding of cost structures, pricing strategies, and financial planning.
7. Ability to assist senior financial leadership assess the financial impact of commercial decisions and support senior leadership with data-driven insights.
8. Experience working in an international business environment is an advantage.
Salary and benefits
1. Salary of €60,000-€75,000 (DOE)
