Role Overview:As the Head of Billing and Invoicing, you will lead and optimise Waystone’s global billing and collections operations, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of invoicing and cash collection processes. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding Waystone’s cash flow and financial health, while also contributing to the client experience through transparent and effective financial processes. This is a senior leadership role, requiring a strategic mindset, operational expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
Develop and execute a global strategy for billing and collections, aligned with Waystone’s overall financial and commercial objectives.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing billing and collections team across multiple jurisdictions.
Collaborate with the Head of Commercial Finance to identify and implement strategic initiatives to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee the end-to-end billing process to ensure invoices are accurate, compliant with regulatory requirements, and issued on time.
Manage the collections process, by leading a small collection team, driving timely recovery of outstanding balances while maintaining strong client relationships.
Establish and monitor KPIs to track and improve the performance of billing and collections activities.
Client Engagement:
Serve as a key point of escalation for complex client billing and collections issues, ensuring resolutions that align with Waystone’s client-centric approach.
Work closely with the Relationship Management teams to foster trust and transparency in all billing and collections interactions.
Systems and Processes:
Evaluate, enhance, and implement systems and tools to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of billing and collections processes.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, tax, and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
Reporting and Analysis:
Provide regular reporting and insights on billing and collections performance to senior management.
Analyse trends and identify opportunities for process optimisation and risk mitigation.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in a senior billing and collections/credit control leadership role, preferably within the financial or professional services sector.
Strong understanding of financial operations, accounting principles across multiple jurisdictions.
Excellent leadership and team-management skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in financial systems and tools, with the ability to drive systems enhancements.
