This position is based in Waterford, where you will work as part of a Global IT team in varying capacities as projects arise. As an IT Operations Leader, your duties will include:
• Establishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and procedures to ensure appropriate business continuity and disaster recovery
• Creating and maintaining documentation and standards to accurately reflect the environment and work practices
• General technical troubleshooting and consultation with Application owners
• Capacity planning of hardware and systems to continually meet the needs of the business
• Implementing and maintaining solutions for efficient and effective 24x7 environment
• Leading the IT Operations Group including management of the Helpdesk
• Ensuring that the infrastructure is operational 24*7 (Servers, Comms Rooms, Firewalls, Computer Rooms, communication lines, Wi Fi)
• Responsibility for designing and implementing Disaster Recovery solutions for infrastructure
• Compliance with Plant, Corporate policies for hardware installation and validation
• Ensuring protection of servers and workstations from harmful viruses by maintaining updated Anti-Virus software
• Keeping up to date on new technologies and liaising with Global Technology Services to implement appropriate solutions eg Wireless, Video Conferencing, IP Technologies
• Management of external communication links to other Bausch & Lomb sites i.e. providing MPLS and internet
• Providing technical expertise to IT and other Departments
• Ensuring adequate support contracts are maintained for licensing and technology support in the event of systems issues
Requirements:
• Third Level Degree in IT/Business discipline
• Masters Level Degree preferable
• Project management training (courses/qualifications/experience)
• Infrastructure specific training (courses/qualifications/experience)
• 3-5 years IT Project Leadership experience, preferably in Healthcare or Electronics Industry
• Experience in Medical Device or Pharmaceutical environment would be beneficial
• Experience leading a team
• World Class Manufacturing/GMP Experience in an FDA regulated industry would be beneficial
• Excellent communication skills
