Nua Healthcare Services provides specialized residential, respite, and day services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, chromosomal disorders, acquired brain injury, mental health difficulties, and challenging behaviors.
The company has designated centers and community-based mental health residences across Ireland.
Role Overview
This role involves working as a Basic Grade Occupational Therapist in Nua Healthcare's occupational therapy team.
The job is a hybrid model, allowing for flexible work arrangements, including remote work from home, offices in Littleisland, County Cork, or Naas, Co. Kildare, and conducting assessments and interventions in Nua Healthcare Centres as required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a caseload of children and adults residing in Nua Healthcare, providing assessment, intervention, and evaluation of treatment programs.
* Engage in interdisciplinary working with clinical teams, including Consultant Psychiatrists, Behaviour Specialists, Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Social Care Workers, and Assistance Support Workers.
* Complete environmental assessments to ensure accessibility and conduct reviews of service users' postural support needs and complete basic and complex seating assessments as required.
* Support service users' transition back into their homes after hospitalization and promote purposeful engagement in self-care, leisure, and productive pursuits.
* Work with service users and staff to improve safety and independence in daily living activities.
* Facilitate evidenced-based group therapy programs and provide detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide support to key stakeholders for the implementation of occupational therapy recommendations and advise schools on supporting sensory or learning needs.
Requirements:
* Hold a degree or master's in occupational therapy from a 3rd-level institution accredited by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
* Be registered with CORU or show proof of pending registration.
* Knowledge of individual care planning, experience contributing to risk assessments, and evidence of continuous professional development.
* Experience in implementing sensory integration approaches and strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
