UKI Portfolio Finance Advisor (PFA) – Assistant Manager

The PFA is a member of a high performing Account Support team, focused on effective Portfolio Management and is at the forefront of finance and business policies, tools, and best practices to effectively lead relevant support team members and provide support to Client Servers (CS) and Service Line (SL).
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join the PFA team at EY.
The PFA will be aligned to a Service Line (SL), teaming with Finance Manager (PBFA), Account Support, and Financial Advisors teams in order to meet the needs of the SL.
PFA will have a deep understanding of the SL’s financial performance with a strong focus on working capital management and revenue recognition, leveraging insights to help shape initiatives and strategies that will lead to improved financial performance.
The PFA will be an expert in advising Partners and their teams and support with their portfolio management, drawing on strong commercial, financial, and consulting skills.
PFA will also have proven coaching skills to help guide more junior team members aligned to the SL.
Key responsibilities
* Provides business insight related to the Service Line’s engagement level financial performance.
* Works closely with the SL’s Operations Director to agree on relevant priorities aligned with the business needs.
* Provides advice tailored to the business needs that optimizes financial and working capital management at portfolio and engagement/project level if necessary.
* Demonstrates deep knowledge of financial tools, SL strategies, and policies which they can articulate both content and context appropriate for the audience to help our partners navigate in order to deliver work successfully to their clients.
* Shares forward-looking business insights gained from working closely with the business and internal team to ensure SL leadership are equipped with the knowledge to drive better business decisions.
* Willing to get involved to support ad-hoc projects and initiatives led by SL and Finance Leadership.
* Leading and coaching internal Finance and Account Support Teams.
* Shares their knowledge and experiences across the team to strengthen skills and improve advice to CS.
* Supports to provide experiential learning opportunities for BA colleagues.
* Contributes to capturing and shaping best practices, processes, and improved solutions.
* Identifies and socializes trends and challenges faced by the business enabling Finance to react and address them effectively.
* Maintains connection with the business and their key stakeholders.

To qualify for the role you must have
* Demonstrable experience in a client-driven professional environment in a financial/business capacity.
* Proven ability to build credibility and trust with senior stakeholders whilst at times maintain resilience.
* Time and project management skills – able to plan and manage time effectively and flexibly to meet priorities.
* Ability to thrive in and adapt to a fast-changing, growing, and high activity environment.
* Excellent IT skills – Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Ideally, you’ll also have
* Experience of working in finance or operations within professional services.
* Be working towards a recognized accountancy qualification.
* Coaching and mentoring skills.
