Head of Finance Governance and Assurance Job Description
A leading Real Estate company is hiring a Head of Finance Governance and Assurance to oversee finance and non-finance processes.
This role involves providing independent assurance on the integrity and performance of internal processes, with a focus on conformance with client service level agreements and contractual obligations.
The successful candidate will:
* Develop an annual surveillance plan to assess the performance of the business, including measuring ongoing conformance with client service level agreements and contractual obligations.
* Create a heat map of revenue streams by client, service line, and risk to enhance transparency and inform senior leadership.
* Establish a risk register to include key operational and strategic risks, and undertake periodic risk assessments.
* Build relationships with departmental management teams to ensure support around oversight activities.
* Develop an in-depth understanding of the overall business performance, cost recoverability, staff productivity, and efficiency.
* Establish metrics and reporting to communicate relevant financial information on business performance.
* Provide recommendations for implementing best practices to drive improvement in process quality, efficiency, and accuracy.
* Work with compliance functions to conduct an annual review of compliance processes.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A qualified accountant with post-qualification experience in auditing and advising on governance, risk, and controls.
* Demonstrated experience in managing functions, implementing process improvements, and understanding month end and year end close activities.
* Ability to act autonomously, with excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
* Driven and self-motivated, with a hands-on practical approach and ability to work under pressure.
* A high level of personal integrity, tenacity, independence, and analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Credibility and personal presence to integrate into the business, with exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
* Exceptional computer-literacy skills and proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
