Job Description
An amazing opportunity has arisen within our Global Engineering Solutions (GES) group for a Senior Specialist, Project Engineer to support our capital program at our manufacturing facilities in Brinny, Co. Cork. This position will be accountable for managing the execution of capital projects while meeting the business objectives.
Reporting to the Global Engineering Solutions (GES) Area Director, this will be a key role in the EMEA GES Project Delivery organization, which is currently executing a diverse portfolio across our API, Biologics, Vaccines and Animal Health network.
Bring energy, knowledge, innovation to carry out the following:
* Provide engineering support and direction to ensure that the project delivery teams at our Brinny site is best in class delivering small/medium sized and complex projects safely, within budget and on schedule meeting the business needs.
* Ensure there is a strong safety culture covering both process and construction safety performance in the execution of the portfolio.
* Work with our internal and external partners to ensure that there are resources and execution strategies in place to execute the projects successfully and that there is an effective governance structure to manage and report on project performance.
* Ensure that there are clear project plans for the delivery of projects and that design, construction, commissioning & qualification, schedule and cost are effectively managed in partnership with project team members, operations personnel, outside contractors and suppliers.
What skills you will need:
In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:
* A minimum of a 3rd level Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical disciplines.
* A minimum of five years of relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical industry or peer industry with a period of this spent delivering small to medium sized capital projects. Experience in a sterile biologics background is preferred but not necessary.
* Strong stakeholder management skills with an appreciation of the customer relationship, capable of dealing with site senior stakeholders, and with the management of engineering companies required for successful completion of a portfolio of small to medium projects.
* Excellent engineering knowledge with a demonstrated ability to work across design, construction and qualification phases of a project lifecycle.
* Excellent project management, financial acumen and communication skills.
* Demonstrated experience in portfolio management.
* Proven knowledge, appreciation and experience of working in a strongly regulated GMP environment.
* Experience in lean six sigma techniques would be an advantage.
